Genoa is a wonderful beauty, filled with architectural gems and hidden treasures. In fact, the built and historical worlds of Genoa are probably what make it most appealing to residents and tourists alike.

Among the stunning buildings in the Old Town, there are the system of 42 Palazzo dei Rolli buildings that have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites and, among these, one of the most interesting is the beautiful Palazzo Bianco.

For sipping on rooftop cocktails at sunset, wandering pretty gardens in the afternoon or taking in famous artworks in the morning, it is a perfect one-stop location with everything you could need for a lovely day out. Just find a villa in Liguria and pay a visit to this extraordinary spot for yourself.
Garden, Palazzo Bianco
Located in the historical centre of Genoa, Italy, on the famous Via Garibaldi, the ancient "Strada Nuova," the Palazzo Bianco, or "White Palace", can be defined as both the most ancient and up-to-date building in the area. Built in 1550 to host the residence of Genoa’s most prominent and famous aristocrat families, the Grimaldi family, its appearance now reflects 18th century renovations instead. The lovely white facade can be attributed to these 18th century reconstructions and the collection inside can be attributed to a 19th century resident: Maria Durazzo Brignole-Sale de Ferrari, who donated both the palace and her art collection to the city in 1884.

Her preference for painters of Spanish and Flemish schools is obvious. The museum houses works by great names such as Filippino Lippi, Veronese, and Caravaggio all are represented and highlights include Rubens’ "Venere e Marte (Venus and Mars)", Van Dyck’s "Vertumna e Pomona" and Lucas Cranach the Elder's "Portrait of a Lady".
Art, Palazzo Bianco
However, it is not just the excellent art collection that awaits visitors but also a panoramic lift that allows visitors to reach the top of the building, where a small rooftop terrace offers incredible views of the city; a stunning garden and a bar in said garden where you can purchase delightful cocktails.

Truly a playground for adults and children alike, the Palazzo is one of the highlights of any visit to Genoa. With many more wonderful attractions like these, Genoa really is the little city that could in Italy and deserves far more attention than it receives from international audiences.
