In the last post of this series, we really have saved the best for last. Italy is a beautiful holiday destination and is a country rich in art and culture and fine cuisine but it also has a stunning landscape that perfectly facilitates adventure. If you are a fan of extreme sports, in particular, it is an ideal destination and these are some more of the places you need to check out.

5. Polignano a Mare

Polignano a Mare is a town and comune on the coast of the Valle d’Itria, Apulia that is perched atop a 20m limestone cliff, overlooking the Adriatic. It is also often home to one of the legs of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series and was again this year on the 23rd of July. The cliffs are a huge part of the identity of the town and make the perfect place for the competition. Athletes dive directly from a private roof-top terrace and must proceed through a private living room in order to reach the platform, set 27m above the Adriatic Sea.

The house is built over the most famous cliff of the coast and looks as though it were part of the cliff itself. Seeing divers fly through the air, flipping in just around three seconds per dive, is an outstanding sight. You'll be impressed, terrified and entertained. If you are a fan of such spectacles, find a luxury villa in Apulia during the next event and see it for yourself!

6. Altopiano di Asiago

If you want to get in on the action yourself but, perhaps, can't quite stomach free-fall (who could blame you!), the next best thing is bungee jumping! That alone is scary and thrilling enough, right? One of the best places in all of Italy to head to, if you've always wanted to try it out for yourself is the Valgadena bridge in the mountains of Asiago in the Veneto region. Constructed to bypass a narrow road that was subject to continuous landslides and showers of falling boulders, it towers 175 meters above ground level.
Bungee
Jumps are scheduled every other Sunday from March to November, from 9am until the sun sets, which means you have plenty of opportunities to schedule your own jump – if you dare! Just find a vacation rental in Veneto and make a memory of a lifetime!

There is much more to Italy than pizza and art. Adventure awaits for those who seek it so make Italy your holiday destination and enjoy all the thrills it offers, as well as the delicious food and wonderful sights.
