While there is no shortage at all of beautiful buildings and churches, the Basilica della Satissima Annunziata is one of the loveliest by far. Located in the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, one of the most beautiful piazzas in all of Florence and worked on by some of the greatest architects of the Italian Renaissance, it is like a magical little jewellery box stuffed full of art. Founded in 1250 as the Oratory of Cafaggio, it was designed by the great Florentine Renaissance architect, Brunelleschi.

Famous artists also contributed to the building, including Bronzino, Pontormo, Ghirlandaio, Alesso Baldovinetti, Cosimo Rosselli, Andrea del Sarto, Rosso Fiorentino and Fraciabigio.
