Read on for some more relaxing, beautiful and fascinating spa towns in Italy.
Brisighella
Brisighella is a medieval town and spa centre in Emilia-Romagna which has been recognised as one of the Best Small Towns of Italy and has received an Orange Flag for its preservation of the town's historical centre, sustainable tourism and easily accessible tourist information services. It is most famous for its baths, located by the river and surrounded by the peace and tranquillity of a massive park where you can go walking or jogging.

The town is particularly known for its sulphurous and sodiobromidiodic waters, good for aiding with respiratory problems. Services at the spas include mud baths, inhalations, aesthetic cures, massage, and reflex therapy and they remain open from April all the way through November.

If you're looking for a well-equipped and tourist friendly spa destination, just find a villa with pool in Emilia-Romagna and visit Brisighella.
Bagno Vignoni
Bagno Vignoni, meanwhile, is a town in the beautiful Val D'Orcia area of Tuscany and is quite possibly the most picturesque spa town in the country. It is characterised by the town square with its large pool, from the bottom of which a number of hot springs (known for their therapeutic quality since antiquity) bubble up. It is one of Tuscany's oldest tourist destinations and is a historic spa town. Sadly, it isn't possible to swim in the town square's medieval pool, and hasn't been for decades, but there are other baths in the valley close by that also offer a wide range of therapies, including mud baths, reflexology, Shiatsu and a great many different types of massage. If you're more interested in a spa destination that really looks the part, just find a luxury villa in the Val D'Orcia and spend some time exploring Bagno Vignoni.

These have been just some of the best spa towns in Italy, there are many more to be discovered. Read our first example for two more and let us know if there are any others that you reckon should have made the cut!
