There are quite a range of water sports for the enthusiast and beginner alike to choose from so you're bound to find the right fit for you, your group or family. These include windsurfing, sailing, water-skiing, jet-skiing and snorkelling. Newer pursuits have also been added recently, keeping the area up-to-date with the latest trends in water sports – you can try SUP (Stand-up-Paddle) and Waterwolf (electric surfboard).

Torbole, at the north of the lake is a windsurfing capital and has played host to major championships. The wind is dependable on Lake Garda and sometimes there are hundreds of people out at one time! Don't worry, though, there's room for everyone.

Sailing is also very popular with several schools based around the lake, making it easy for absolute beginners to enjoy it as well. After surfing, it's the second most popular water sport on Lake Garda and one of the things it is most famous for.

Due to the clear and very calm waters of the lake, it is also a popular spot among scuba divers and people after a spot of snorkelling. In fact, it's so clear that you will be able to see plenty just by snorkelling, making it a great place for people in love with the water but who haven't been certified to dive. Waterskiing and Jetskiing is also possible on the lake but only in certain areas so be sure to check out where they are when you arrive.

If you've had enough of the water but not of sport, there are also plenty of things to do in the area such as tennis, squash, golf, mountain-biking, rock-climbing, paragliding, canyoning, horse riding, hiking, Nordic walking, skiing and winter sports! You'll never be stuck twiddling your thumbs at Lake Garda!
