This week in our Villa Spotlight, we turn to the province of Liguria. The thin coastal province is well known for its beautiful rocky shores and gorgeous cities such as Portofino and Genoa. Liguria also has the Cinque Terre on its Tuscan border, in which our gorgeous villa Portovenere is located.

Portovenere is perfect for a pair of couples traveling through Italy, the house sleeps up to four people in its 2 bedrooms. The villa is about 70 square meters contained on three levels and is furnished in a comfortable fashion. The bottom floor has an entrance hall and a fully equipped kitchen with a separate W.C..
The second floor has a spiral staircase leading up from the first along with a living/dining room with television. The top floor has one bedroom with two beds and one double bedroom with a bathroom. The unit also has a lovely terrace with equipped with outdoor furniture to enjoy the picturesque view surrounding Portovenere.

"We just completed a 2 week vacation at the property and thoroughly enjoyed it and the location. It is located on a very scenic hill overlooking the water and provides a nice combination of privacy and access to the surrounding areas. We spent a lot of time traveling to cities in Liguria and Tuscany and enjoyed living as an "Italian Native" with access to a large part of Northern Italy. We do plan to return in a couple of years and will use this same reservation service (for the third time.)"

Please note that a car is essential to staying at Portovenere, as well as all of Cinque Terre. Shops, restaurants and grocers are all about 3km away from Portovenere. The villa is reachable from two different parking lots, one of them accessible from a 300m footpath and the other from a flight of stairs.
Portovenere offers a gorgeous view over the Poets Gulf and Palmaria island. This wonderful country villa sits only 7km from the seaside and 6km from the center of Le Grazie. The village and holiday resort lies on the edge of a peninsula that stretches out to the sea which is west of La Spezia Gulf. Narrow houses built closely to one another and brightly decorated dot the village, as is the style of the area.
